Troubleshooting
Start here: docker compose ps shows what’s unhealthy, docker compose logs app shows why.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| No certificate, or the browser warns | DNS must point at the server, and ports 80 and 443 must be open. Check docker compose logs caddy. |
set POSTGRES_PASSWORD in .env |
A required setting is empty. Fill it in .env. |
app keeps restarting after you changed POSTGRES_PASSWORD |
The database keeps the password it was created with. Put the old one back. |
| Wrong email or password | Reset the password with create-user. See Users. |
app won’t start: Several accounts share an email address that differs only in case |
Emails now ignore case. Give all but one of the accounts named in the message another email (in the users table), then start app again. |
| Steam shows no sessions | The Steam profile’s Game details must be Public. |
| Saving a Telegram chat ID fails | TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN is missing or wrong. Run docker compose up -d after you fix it. |
| AI drafts are missing from the app | All three are needed: AI_DRAFTS_ENABLED=true, a key and a model. |
| The Windows app says the key is wrong | The server must end in /api: https://playdex.example.com/api. |
| The Windows app says the server address must use HTTPS | Put the server behind HTTPS (the self-host Caddy setup does this). Plain http:// works only for localhost. |
